How Buyer & Seller Protection Works on IPF
Buying and selling secondhand only works if both sides trust the transaction. Here's exactly how IPF protects buyers and sellers.

Escrow-style payments
Payment made through IPF is held in escrow rather than sent straight to the seller. The seller is paid automatically 72 hours after delivery is confirmed, unless the buyer raises an issue during the inspection window. This means a seller can't take payment and fail to deliver, and a buyer can't receive an item and refuse to pay.
Seller verification
Sellers on IPF are verified parents, and every listing requires real product photos before it goes live. This reduces the risk of fake listings and gives buyers a clearer picture of an item's actual condition before they buy.
The 48-hour inspection window
After delivery, buyers have 48 hours to inspect the item and confirm it matches the listing. If there's a problem — wrong item, damage or missing parts — the buyer can raise a complaint through the app within this window, before the seller is paid.
Dispute resolution
If a buyer raises an issue within the inspection window, IPF's dispute resolution process reviews the complaint using in-app chat history and photos before releasing or reversing the escrowed payment. Off-platform payments (e.g. direct UPI transfers) fall outside this protection, which is why all payment should go through IPF.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens to my payment when I buy something on IPF?
Your payment is held in escrow by IPF, not sent directly to the seller. It's released to the seller automatically 72 hours after delivery is confirmed, unless you raise an issue during the 48-hour inspection window.
What if the item I receive doesn't match the listing?
Raise a complaint through the app within 48 hours of delivery, before the seller is paid. IPF's dispute resolution process reviews the issue using in-app chat and photos.
Is it safe to pay a seller directly outside the app?
No. Off-platform payments such as direct UPI transfers are not covered by IPF's escrow protection and can't be disputed through IPF. Always pay through IPF Pay.
